Day 206: Fred Flintstone





The Flintstones is an animated American television sitcom that ran from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966 on ABC. Produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, The Flintstones is about a working class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next door neighbor and best friend.

The main character, Fred is an accident-prone quarry worker and head of the Flintstone clan. He is quick to anger (usually over inconsequential matters), but a very loving husband and father.

Day 205: Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street)





Oscar the Grouch is a Muppet character on the television program Sesame Street. He has a green body (during the first season he was orange), has no (visible) nose (although he claims to have one), and lives in a garbage can. His favorite thing in life is trash; evidence for this is the song "I Love Trash".

A Clockwork Orange is a speculative fiction novel by Anthony Burgess, published in 1962, and was later the basis for a 1971 film adaptation of the same name by Stanley Kubrick. The novel was chosen by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2005.

From the Archive - Day 119: Bender (Futurama)



Bender Bending Rodríguez, designated Bending Unit 22, is a fictional robot character in the animated television series Futurama. In the series, Bender plays the role of a comic anti-hero, and is described by Leela as an "alcoholic, whore-mongering, chain-smoking gambler". He was built in Mexico and is said to possess a "swarthy Latin charm" despite not having a Mexican accent. He is also prejudiced against non-robots, often expressing an urge to "kill all humans".

Day 171: Zakumi (2010 FIFA World Cup Mascot)

Zakumi is the Official Mascot for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He is an anthropomorphised leopard with green hair, presented on 22 September 2008. His name comes from "ZA", the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for South Africa, and "kumi", a word that means ten in various African languages.
